Father’s Day Triathlon at Discovery Park

The Father’s Day Triathlon has moved to a new location with a Super Sprint Triathlon featuring a 200 yard swim – 5.5 mile bike – 1 mile run course at Discovery Park in Sacramento. Also taking place at the same location will be the USAT Sacramento International Triathlon. Each athlete will receive a custom Father’s Day tech-tee race shirt, Father’s Day Triathlon coffee mug, and Finisher Medal. We will have special Relay Team Divisions for the Super Sprint Triathlon.

Father’s Day Triathlon Class, April 21-June 14

This coed 8-week class meets three times per week and concludes with the Father’s Day Sprint Triathlon (or longer Olympic-distance Sacramento International Triathlon). The class will teach the principles of triathlon training with emphasis on improving each athletes overall abilities in swimming, biking, and running while developing core strength, flexibility, and stability, learning and practicing proper techniques in all three sports, and sensibly and successfully adopting the multisport lifestyle. Included with the 8-week class is a ‘Triathlete IN-Training’ class t-shirt and a $50 voucher towards your Graduation Race with TBF Racing.

Swim – The swim will be a 200 yard swim across the American River. There is a staircase up the riverbank to the transition area.


fathers-day-tri-bike-tnBike – The bike course is 5.5 miles and is on closed local roads. Water and FLUID Electrolyte Beverage, along with CLIF energy gels will be available in the transition area.

fathers-day-tri-bike-tnRun – The run course begins directly outside the transition area and is a 1 mile out-and-back course. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.

Transition Area

The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile one and two on the run course, serving cold water, energy gels, and FLUID electrolyte beverage.

Equipment

Expected water temperature for the American River will be between 58 and 64 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Failure to do so may result in Disqualification. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc… are not allowed.


Packet Pickup

Packets may be picked up race morning from 6:30 am to 7:30 am at the race site. The races will start promptly at 7:30 and 8 am. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time for entrance to the park, parking, transition set-up and warm-up. Your entry fee into the park is included in your Race entry fee.

First place Overall Male and Female in the Father’s Day Super Sprint Triathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards five deep in each ten-year age groups and divisions for the Father’s Day Super Sprint Triathlon. Relay Team awards will be for the Top three teams in each Division of Father-Son, Father-Daughter and Family.

Refund and transfer policy

TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.

Competitor Goodies

Included for each competitor is a Father’s Day Triathlon custom tech-tee race shirt, Father’s Day Triathlon  Coffee Mug, Finisher Medal, XTERRA swim cap, athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar, Emerald Nuts, RedBull and other product samples.

Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot pasta, salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.

Training and Coaching:

TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-sport Coaching and Personal Training.

Race for FREE program

Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $40 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing volunteersi@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.

Discovery Park, Sacramento CA

Discovery Park is located at the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers.

If you are a member of a Triathlon Club that has 10 or more athletes racing with TBF Racing we can provide Reserved bike racks in the transition area for your club, have your club set up a tent in the expo/athlete area, and hang your banners at the event. To take advantage of this program, TRI Clubs must send the list of 10 or more pre-registered athletes to Bill@totalbodyfitness.com 7-10 days prior to the race.
