XTERRA Gold Rush 10 Mile & 5K Trail Runs

The Gold Rush 10 Mile Trail Run and 5K Walk/run is back in 2017 with another great scenic trail course. All finishers of the 5K and 10K races will get a custom finisher medal (like the one pictured on the right). All athletes also get a custom-designed race tech tee-shirt and hot post race refreshments.

  • The Gold Rush 5K: 8:15 am

The XTERRA Gold Rush 10 mile trail run starts at Granite Beach on Folsom Lake. The course heads south toward Beals Point with a mix of wide trail, single track trail and pavement. The south end of the course is a 1/3 mile out/back section with beautiful lake views. The course turns around before the bottom of Mooney Ridge. The course will return north past Granite Beach and onto the single track trails. Runners will wind, twist and roll through the forested oak and pine trees of Beeks Bight, Doton’s Point and Oak Point. The race finish will cover some cross country trails from Old County Road to the exciting finish at Granite Beach.

The Gold Rush 5K mile trail run starts at Granite Beach on Folsom Lake. The course heads south toward Beals Point with a mix of wide trail, single track trail and pavement. The first aid station is just past mile one. The course turns left heads toward the lake after the aid station for 150 yards and then turns right off of the pavement and follows a clockwise loop back to the aid station. The loop features fun trails and the only hill on the course:). The course will finish on single track trails and the levee past Granite Beach to Horse Assemble area. Racers will turn right at this point (10 Milers going straight) and head back to an exciting finish at Granite Beach.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will be located on the course at miles 1, 2.5, 3.5, 5, 7.5, and 9 – each serving cold water, FLUID Electrolyte beverage, Clif Shot Bloks with Mini Clif Bars.

Equipment

Listening devices: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc…ARE allowed in the Gold Rush 10 Mile Trail Run and 5K. Runners must exercise caution when crossing any roads and must pay attention at all times when running trails.


Packet Pickup

Race packets will be available race morning from 6:30 am to 8:30 am at the race site.

First place Overall Male and Female in the Gold Rush 10 Mile Trail Run will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards three deep in each ten-year age group for the Gold Rush 10 Mile Trail Run. Awards will be given to First overall male and female, plus three deep in each ten-year age group for the 5k Run.

All finishers of the 5K and 10K races get a custom designed finisher medal.

Refund and transfer policy

TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.

Competitor Goodies

Included for each competitor is a Gold Rush 10 Mile/5K Trail Run custom tech-tee race shirt and athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar, Emerald Nuts, and other product samples.

Post Race Athlete Food

Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot soup or chili with fruit, cookies and beverage.

Training and Coaching:

TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-sport Coaching and Personal Training.

 

Race for FREE program

Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $40 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing Teri@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.

Granite Bay State Park on Folsom lake is located at the end of Douglas Blvd, 5-6 miles East of I-80. Turn right at the third stop sign after entering the park for the Granite Beach parking lot. There is a $12 vehicle charge for day-use or $125 for an annual pass. Contact phone: 916 988 0205.
