Kickstart Duathlon 2018

The Kickstart Duathlon is a run-bike-run format race, with a 2-mile run, 6.5 mile bike, 2-mile run course. The bike course is all on closed roads, and both runs are on scenic trails. In addition, we will have a Free Kids Duathlon with a 1-mile run/3-mile road bike course starting before the Kickstart Duathlon.Included for each competitor in the Kickstart Duathlon is a custom tech-tee race shirt and athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar and Emerald Nuts product samples.

Packet pick-up will be available at the race site on race morning from 7 am to 9 am. Registration prices increase on Race Day.

Awards will be given three-deep in each ten-year age group for the Kickstart Duathlon, and for the top team in each Relay Division.

Distances

  • Kickstart Duathlon:
    Run 2 mile – Bike 6.5 miles – Run 2 miles
  • Free Kids Duathlon:
    Run 1 mile – Bike 3 miles

Run – The 2 mile run course is the same for both legs of the race. The course will run on granite paths, single track trails, and a small section on pavement with an aid station at the start of the run and the half way point.

Bike – The 6.5 mile road bike course is on closed roads within Folsom Lake State Park. The course has several turns and twisting corners winding through the oak forest bordering Folsom Lake. Care should be taken on several sharp turns so as not to exceed safe speed limits.

Transition Area – The Transition area will be on a first-come basis. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.

Aid Stations- Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile one on the run course, serving cold water, and FUEL  Electrolyte beverage.

For the Kickstart Duathlon there will be 10-year age groups beginning with 19 and under and ending with 70+ for male and female individuals. Awards will be presented three-deep in each 10-year age group, with Overall Special Awards to first Male and Female finisher. For Relay Teams there will be first place for each division: male, female, and coed teams.

Refund and transfer policy

TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.

Competitor Goodies:

Included for each competitor is a Kickstart Duathlon custom tech-tee race shirt and athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar, Emerald Nuts, and other product samples.

Post Race Athlete Food:

Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot soup or chili with fruit, cookies and beverage.

Training and Coaching:

TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-sport Coaching and Personal Training

Race for FREE program

Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $40 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing volunteersi@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.

Granite Bay State Park on Folsom lake is located at the end of Douglas Blvd, 5-6 miles East of I-80. Turn right at the third stop sign after entering the park for the Granite Beach parking lot. There is a $12 vehicle charge for day-use or $125 for an annual pass. Contact phone: 916 988 0205.
