The TRI for KIDS Series will be held at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California. The course will have a 50 meter or 150 meter swim, a four mile bike, and a one mile run. Boys and girls aged 11 and over will swim the longer distance, with kids aged 10 and under doing the shorter distance. The 2017 Series dates for the three races this year are: June 11th, and July 16th, and August 13th. Series Awards will be presented to the top athletes racing all THREE events in each age group. Series Age will be based upon athletes age upon August 13th. EVERY boy and girl that races all Three TRI for KIDS Races will receive a TRI for KIDS Series Finisher Medal on August 13th.
Entry into Rancho Seco Park closed from 7:30 am to 8 am due to TRI for KIDS Triathlon bike course closure. Vehicles can park and walk in approximately one mile or wait until the road opens at 8 am.
- TRI 4 KIDS Traithlon: 7:30 am
- TRI for KIDS Triathlon 5 to 10 years old: Swim 50 meters, Bike 4 miles, Run 1 mile
- TRI for KIDS Triathlon 11 to 14 years old: Swim 150 meters, Bike 4 miles, Run 1 mile
Swim – The swim course will be a 50 meter swim or 150 meter swim along the shoreline, completely monitored by safety kayakers and lifeguards.
Bike – The bike course will be a four-mile course on the roads inside the park at Rancho Seco. The course will be closed to traffic and monitored for safety. The Bike course will Not have an aid station. Water and electrolyte beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area.

Run – The run course will be a one-mile course around sections of the lake on grass and trails. There will be an aid station at the start and half way on the run course. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.

The Transition area for the TRI for KIDS Triathlon will be contained within the Transition area for the TRI for Real Triathlon with athletes from both races sharing portions of the Transition area. We ask parents after helping their kids set-up transition to please exit the Transition area. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times during the race. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
Race packets will be available race morning from 6:30 am to 7:30 am at the race site.

For the TRI for KIDS Triathlon there will be age group awards five-deep for each one-year age group. Every finisher will receive a race finisher ribbon.
TRI for KIDS Series Awards will be presented to the top athletes racing all Three events in each one-year age group at the third and final TRI for KIDS Triathlon on August 13th. Each boy and girl that races all Three TRI 4 KIDS Races will receive a TRI4KIDS Series Finisher Medal.

Refund and transfer policy
TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.

TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-sport Coaching and Personal Training.
Race for FREE program
Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $40 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing Teri@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.

Rancho Seco Park is the site of many of the TBF Racing summer events. The park features plenty of camping and the lake’s summertime water temperature is in the 70s.
There is a $10 park entrance fee per vehicle
