Dee Larsen Memorial MTB Race Series

Wednesday, July 8, 15 and 22, 2015 | Granite Beach, Folsom Lake SRA

The Wednesday Night MTB Races will have a 2-lap Novice and Junior division, a Sport and Single Speed division with 3-laps, and a 4-lap Expert/Pro division. Each lap is 4 miles of challenging, scenic, fast single track trails, up and down the foothills surrounding Folsom Lake. The Wednesday Night MTB Races are a great way to enjoy weeknight mountain biking. The fun course has a mixture of downhills and climbs combined with beautiful single track through the woods and along the lakeshore at Folsom Lake State Park.

mtb-parking-mapThe main beach parking lot at Granite Bay will be closed from July 6 – July 13 for repaving. The parking for the July 8 race will be moved to the Stage 4 Parking lot. For directions, click on the parking map at left.

A portion of the proceeds from the Dee Larsen Memorial MTB Race Series will be donated in Dee’s name to FATRAC to help support local trails.

  • Junior (14-under): 2 laps | 8 miles
  • Novice/Novice HS (High School Riders): 2 laps | 8 miles
  • Sport/Sport HS/Single-Speed: 3 laps | 12 miles
  • Expert/SS Expert/Pro: 4 laps | 16 miles

 

Wednesday Night MTB 

Wednesday Night MTB Course MapThe Wednesday Night MTB race course is on multi-use trails within the Granite Bay State Park on Folsom Lake. The course features a fun, challenging combination of twisting single-track, wide double track, rolling cross-country with some sand and a bit of pavement. The course is perfect for first-timers and exciting fun for all levels. Please be respectful of other trail users including hikers and equestrian riders in this state park. Equipment

Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc…are not allowed on the bike course. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times.

Post-race athlete food

Included for each competitor is a post race snack with fruit and cold beverages.

Wednesday Night MTB Series Awards

Custom Series Champion Tech Tees will be given to first overall rider in each in EACH division. Points will be tallied after each race to determine the winner. 1 point – first place, 2 points – second place, 5 points – fifth place, etc. Lowest point total wins. Third race is tie breaker. Race day age on July 9 determines division age for Series.

Men

  • Novice, Sport and Expert Divisions: 17 and under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+.
  • Single Speed Divisions: Open (39-under) and Masters (40+over)
  • Clydesdale: one division (200lb+)
  • Junior: one division (14-under)

Women

  • Pro/Expert Division: one division
  • Sport and Novice Divisions: 34 and under, 35+
  • Single Speed: one division
  • Junior: one division (14-under)

Entry Fees

July 8th, July 15th, July 22nd Races – Individual $20
Three Race Series – Individual $50
Three Race Series – Junior $40

Refund and transfer policy

TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.

Training and Coaching:

TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-sport Coaching and Personal Training.

Race for FREE program

Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $40 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing volunteersi@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.

Granite Bay State Park on Folsom lake is located at the end of Douglas Blvd, 5-6 miles East of I-80. Turn right at the third stop sign after entering the park for the Granite Beach parking lot. There is a $12 vehicle charge for day-use or $125 for an annual pass. Contact phone: 916 988 0205.
