The California Youth Triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and will feature official race courses for Youth & Junior Elite Divisions. The race will feature Draft Legal courses for Junior Elite athletes 16-19 years old, and Youth athletes 15 years old and under.
The races will start from Granite Beach in Folsom Lake SRA, where the water will be approximately 64 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended, not required. The bike courses will be on roads within the park closed to traffic. The run courses will be on a mix of pavement and trails.
All athletes will receive a custom California Youth Triathlon hydration bottle, plus a post race lunch and have a chance for individual division awards.

- Junior Triathlon (ages 16-19): 9:00 am
- Youth Triathlon (ages 13-15): 10:00 am
- Youth Triathlon (ages 11-12) 10:20 am
- Youth Triathlon (ages 10 & under) 10:40 am
Distances
- Junior (ages 16-19): 750 meter Swim - 8.4 mile Bike - 3 mile Run
- Youth (ages 13-15): 300 meter Swim - 4.2 mile Bike - 2 mile Run
- Youth (ages 12-under): 200 meter Swim - 4.2 mile Bike - 2 mile Run
- Youth (ages 10 & under): 100 meter Swim - 2 mile Bike - 1 mile Run
New Transition Area for 2024
Please allow an extra 20-30 minutes to be ready to race at 8:30 am.
The Transition area is located 1/3 mile from Granite Beach at the end of Old County Road. It will take an extra 20 minutes to walk to transition, set-up your bike gear and return to Granite Main Beach for the start of the race.
Packet Pickup
Race packets will be available race morning from 6:30 am to 8 am at the race site.

Refund and transfer policy
TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.
Training and Coaching:
TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-sport Coaching and Personal Training.
