The Folsom Lake Sprint and Super Sprint Triathlons take place at beautiful Granite Beach, Folsom Lake, each featuring a lake swim, scenic road bike on country roads and a beautiful trail run.
The Sprint and Super Sprint distance triathlons are USAT sanctioned. Included for each competitor is a swim cap, post race refreshments and custom Folsom Lake Triathlon running hat.
Commemorative Folsom Lake Triathlon race t-shirts are available for $20 when ordered before May 4th.
Start Times:
- 8:00 am - Folsom Lake Super Sprint Triathlon (with waves to be announced)
- 10:00 am - Folsom Lake Sprint Triathlon (with waves to be announced
Distances:
- Super Sprint: 400 yard swim - 4.2 mile bike - 2 mile run
- Sprint: 1/2 mile swim - 12.6 mile bike - 3 mile run
Anchored Eats will have delicious food and beverage for our spectators.
2 mile run
The 2 mile run course will start at Granite Beach and finish at the transition area located at the end of Old County Road. The terrain features crushed granite paths and dirt trails.
3 mile run
Walk to transition
*Please allow an extra 20-30 minutes to be ready to race at 8:30 am.
The transition area is located 1/3 mile from Granite Beach at the end of Old County Road. It will take an extra 20 minutes to walk to transition, set-up your bike gear and return to Granite Main Beach for the start of the race.
Bike course
The 4.2 mile bike course is located entirely within the park on roads closed to traffic. The bike course begins at the transition area at Old County Road and travels past Oak Point and turns around at Beeks Bight, then returns to the Old County Road transition area.
Transition Area
The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Body marking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
Equipment
Water temperature should be approximately 64 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc… are not allowed.

- Athenas (Females > 170 lbs)
- Clydesdales (Males > 225 lbs)
Awards
For both races:
- Awards for the first overall male and female finishers (Overall Champion Award)
- Awards 3-deep in each 10-year age group

Refund and transfer policy
TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.
