TBF 280 ultra triathlon

Friday, June 17 – Sunday, June 19, 2022 | Lincoln, CA

TBF Racing is proud to present the TBF 280, an ultra endurance event. The race will take place over 3 days during the summer solstice. The swim will be held at Nimbus Flat, Lake Natoma on Friday. The bike on Saturday and the run on Sunday will take place at Twelve Bridges High School in Lincoln. There will be plenty of ways for our local athletes to get key over-distance workouts for triathlon racing this summer and fall.

Swim –Friday, June 17, 2022 at Nimbus Flat, Lake Natoma

1.25 mile swim course

  • TBF 280 athletes = 4 laps
  • TBF 140 athletes = 2 laps
  • 4 Person relays teams = 1 lap each

Swimmers will start in waves beginning at 4:00 pm.

The swim course will be marked with orange buoys. Our TBF Water Safety Team will patrol the swim course in kayaks and paddle boards.

Swim Course Rules

All athletes must wear an event swim cap at all times during the swim. Wetsuits allowed. No swim aids allowed. Swimmers can rest with water safety but cannot receive assisted forward progress.

Bike –Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Twelve Bridges High School, Lincoln

56-mile mile bike course

  • TBF 280 athletes = 4 laps
  • TBF 140 athletes = 2 laps
  • 4 Person relays teams = 1 lap each

Cyclists will start one at a time (time trial start) beginning at 5:00 am.

The bike course will be marked with orange cones and directional signs. Our TBF Road Safety Team will be stationed at key intersections on the course. All vehicle traffic laws must be obeyed. We will have First Aid and cyclist support teams positioned on the course.

Signage will be set-up on barricades along the course notifying vehicle traffic of cyclist on the road.

TBF Parking Team will provide direction at start/finish at Twelve Bridges High School.

Bike Course Rules

Helmets must be worn and buckled at all times. Athletes must obey all traffic laws while on the bike course. Athletes must come to a complete stop when required by a traffic sign or traffic control device and must not proceed through any intersection unless such intersection is clear of oncoming traffic. It is the sole responsibility of each athlete to know and follow the bike course. No adjustments in times or results will be made for athletes who fail to follow the proper course. Athletes must stay right at all times, except to pass. Single file only (no side-by-side riding). No drafting allowed (maintain 3 bike lengths between bicycles). Biking with a bare torso is prohibited. Athletes must wear a shirt, jersey, or sport top/sports bra at all times during the bike segment. No littering. Good Sportsmanship is required. Any violation of bike course rules will result in a time penalty or disqualification.

Run –Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Twelve Bridges High School, Lincoln

12.5 mile run course

  • TBF 280 athletes = 4 laps
  • TBF 140 athletes = 2 laps
  • 4 Person relays teams = 1 lap each

Runners will start one at a time (time trial start) beginning at 5:00 am.

The run course will be marked with orange cones and directional signs. Our TBF Road Safety Team will be stationed at key intersections on the course. All vehicle traffic laws must be obeyed. We will have First Aid and runner support teams positioned on the course.
