The Gravel X Triathlon

The Gravel X Triathlon is part of the USA Triathlon Gravel Triathlon Series with a lake swim, draft-legal off-road/gravel bike course and scenic single track trails for the run.
We will have sprint and olympic distances for the Gravel X Triathlon. Both distances are USAT sanctioned and a valid USAT membership number or one-day racing license is required. We will also offer a non-USAT SUP/Kayak Sprint Distance Triathlon.
Included with both races is a commemorative Finisher Gravel X race shirt.

Start times

  • 8:00 am - Sprint
  • 8:20 am - SUP/Kayak
  • 9:00 am - Olympic

Distances

  • Sprint Gravel X Triathlon: 500 meter lake swim-15K gravel bike-5K trail run
  • Sprint SUP/Kayak Gravel X Triathlon: 1500 meter SUP/Kayak-15K gravel bike-5K trail run
  • Olympic Gravel X Triathlon: 1000 meter lake swim-30K gravel bike-10K trail run

Anchored Eats will have delicious food and beverage for our spectators.

Swim Course

The swim and SUP/Kayak courses will start and finish at Granite Main Beach, Folsom Lake.

Rules: no hand paddles or floats allowed.

Transition area located in parking lot.

 


 

Bike course

The bike course heads north and features trails and roads of decomposed granite and dirt. The course will cover most of the trail system at Granite Bay including the Flow Trail, Jedi, Beeks Bight and Doton’s Point with a little extra. You will enjoy the rolling, twisty, turny terrain through oak and pine forests.

Rules:Time trial bicycles and aero bars of any type are prohibited. Fixed gear bicycles and recumbent bicycles are prohibited. All other bicycles currently allowed under the competitive rules are allowed. Bar ends must be plugged.

Run course

The run course heads south along Granite Beach to the Pioneer Express Trail. At mile 2 the course will head up a three step climb to the water tower atop Mooney Ridge before returning to the finish at Granite Beach.

Rules: Any equipment must be carried the entire run course and cannot be discarded along the course.
