Tri for Real Triathlon, Aquabike and Super Sprint Triathlon #2

Saturday, July 13, 2024 | Rancho Seco Park, Herald, CA

Held at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California, the TRI for REAL Series triathlons, aquabikes and super sprint triathlons are USAT Sanctioned for 2024 on June 8th, July 13th, and August 10th. A valid USAT membership number or one-day racing license is required for those events.

Back this year: TRI for Real Series Champions in each 5-year age-group! Race in all three TRI for Real Triathlons  to be eligible for Series Champion Awards & Apparel.

Included for each athlete is a swim cap, post-race refreshments and a commemorative TRI for REAL finisher piece.

Entry into Rancho Seco Park will be closed from 7:30 am to 8:00 am due to TRI for KIDS event bike course closure. Vehicles can park and walk in approximately two miles or wait until the road opens at 8 am. Please note that the parking fee at Rancho Seco Park is $12 per car. Exact change is preferred.

  • Super Sprint Tri: 200 yd swim-4 mi bike-1 mile run
  • Tri for Real: 1.5K swim-40K bike-10K run
  • Aquabike: 1.5K swim-40K bike

Transition Area

The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will be located in the transition area, at the start of the run, and at miles 1, 2.5, 3.5, and 5.2 on the run course, serving cold water, energy gels, and FLUID electrolyte beverage.

Equipment

Expected water temperature for Rancho Seco Park Lake will be 72-76 degrees. Wetsuits are optional. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc.. are not allowed.

Tri for Real Series Champions will receive Custom Series Champion apparel and hydration flasks.

Series Finishers Prizes

All series finishers will be entered into a raffle drawing with prizes from Rancho Enduro Sports and Total Body Fitness.

Refund and transfer policy

TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.

Rancho Seco Park is the site of many of the TBF Racing summer events. The park features plenty of camping and the lake’s summertime water temperature is in the 70s.
