Sacramento International Triathlon

The Sacramento International Triathlon will be USAT Sanctioned and feature an Olympic-distance course with a 1.5K swim in the American River, a 40K bike course on roads closed to traffic, and a 10K run on the American River Bike Trail. Included for each athlete is a Sac Int’l Triathlon tech-tee race shirt, a swim cap, athlete goody bag, hot post race meal and free athlete massage. Awards are for 1st through 5th place in each age group/category for Sacramento International Triathlon. There will also be a USAT Sanctioned Aqua Bike with 1.5K swim-40K bike.

  • Bucket List Super Sprint Triathlon: Swim: 200 yds – Bike: 5.5 mi – Run: 1 mi
  • Sac Int’l Triathlon: Swim: 1.5K – Bike: 40K – Run: 10K (USAT Sanctioned)
  • Aqua Bike: Swim: 1.5K – Bike: 40K

Relay Teams:

  • Relay Teams consist of one swimmer, one cyclist and one runner. Entry fee includes three race shirts, goody bags and post race meals. Awards will be first overall in Male, Female and Coed divisions for Sacramento International Triathlon.

Swim – The race starts from the beach in Discovery Park, across the bridge from the Transition area, finish line and athlete parking. The swim will be a 1.5K in the American River, starting upstream and ending downstream on the opposite side of the American River. There is a staircase up the riverbank to the transition area.

Sac-Intl-bikeBike – The 40K bike course is four laps and is on closed local roads. Athletes are responsible for counting their own bike laps to insure they finish all four laps. Athletes not completing all four bike laps will be disqualified.  The Bike course will not have an aid station. Water and FLUID Electrolyte Beverage, along with CLIF energy gels will be available in the transition area. Bike Course Map


Sac-Intl-bikeRun – The 10K run course is a fast out and back course along the beautiful American River Parkway. There will be aid stations at the start of the run and at miles 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line. Run Course Map


Transition Area

The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile one, three, and five on the run course, serving cold water, CLIF Gel Shots, and FLUID Electrolyte beverage.

Equipment

Expected water temperature for the American River will be between 58 and 64 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Failure to do so may result in Disqualification. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc… are not allowed.


Packet Pickup

Race morning at race venue from 6:30 am until 8:00 am. The races will start promptly at 7:30 and 8 am. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time for entrance to the park, parking, transition set-up and warm-up.

First place Overall Male and Female in the Sacramento International Triathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards five deep in each five-year age group for the Sacramento International Triathlon. Relay Team awards will be for the Top three teams in each Division of Male, Female and Coed.

There will be awards five deep in each ten-year age group for the Bucket List Super Sprint Triathlon. Relay Team awards will be for the first place team in each Division of Male, Female and Coed.

Refund and transfer policy

TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.

Competitor Goodies

Included for each competitor is a Sacramento International Triathlon tech-tee race shirt, Sacramento International Triathlon Finisher’s Medal, XTERRA swim cap, athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar, RedBull and Emerald Nuts product samples.

Post Race Athlete Food

Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot pasta, salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.

Training and Coaching:

TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-sport Coaching and Personal Training.

Race for FREE program

Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $40 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing volunteersi@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.

Discovery Park, Sacramento CA

Discovery Park is located at the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers.

If you are a member of a Triathlon Club that has 10 or more athletes racing with TBF Racing we can provide Reserved bike racks in the transition area for your club, have your club set up a tent in the expo/athlete area, and hang your banners at the event. To take advantage of this program, TRI Clubs must send the list of 10 or more pre-registered athletes to Bill@totalbodyfitness.com 7-10 days prior to the race.
