The TBF MTB 50 Miler

TBF Racing presents the 12th Annual TBF MTB 50 Miler, an endurance mountain bike race at Granite Bay, Folsom Lake. The course features a fun, challenging combination of twisting single-track, wide double-track and rolling cross-country with no time limit or fun limit.

We have lowered our entry fees and will feature a NEW RACE Course in 2020! The New Course will be 10 miles. We have eliminated the southern portion of the original course and added new trails on the north side. The course still features a fun, challenging combination of twisting single-track, rolling hills, and cross-country.

Included for each athlete will be a custom MTB 50 Steel Pint by Kleen Kanteen of Chico, CA, along with post- race hot meal of BBQ and Pasta, plus ice cold beer on tap, and athlete goody bag.

Solo riders will have 10-year age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+ for males and females. There will be one Single Speed division for male and female solo riders.

2-person teams will have divisions of Under-80, or Over-80 for male and female teams, with total age determining the division. There will be a Coed Division and Single Speed Division with no age groups.

4-person teams will have age divisions of Under-160, or Over-160 for male and female teams with total age determining the division. There will be a Coed Division, which must have 2 female and 2 male riders, and a Single Speed Division, both with no age groups.

Distances

  • Solo Rider: 50 miles (5 laps)
  • Solo Rider 20 miles (2 laps)
  • 2- person teams: 50 miles (5 laps) 1 rider 2 laps – 1 rider 3 laps
  • 4- person teams: 50 miles (5 laps) 3 riders 1 lap each – 1 rider 2 laps

The TBF MTB 50 Miler race course is 10 miles long on multi-use trails within the Granite Bay State Park on Folsom Lake. The course features a fun, challenging combination of twisting single-track, wide double track, rolling cross-country with some sand and a bit of pavement. * The sandy sections between Oak Point and Doton’s Point have been replaced with fast, fun, rolling, curvy pavement.

Feed Zones

Water bottles, FLUID performance electrolyte drink bottles, Hammer Gel, salty snacks and sweet treats. The feed zone will be located along Granite Beach at the start of laps 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Equipment

Listening devices of any kind: headphones, amplified, etc. are not allowed on the bike course. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times.

Awards will be given five-deep in each age group for the Solo riders, and three-deep for the Two-person teams and the Four-person teams.

Refund and transfer policy

TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.

Race for FREE program

Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $40 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing volunteersi@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.

Granite Bay State Park on Folsom lake is located at the end of Douglas Blvd, 5-6 miles East of I-80. Turn right at the third stop sign after entering the park for the Granite Beach parking lot. There is a $12 vehicle charge for day-use or $125 for an annual pass. Contact phone: 916 988 0205.
